Story time at the library

Friday is infant story time at the library. Ava was on winter break this week so she went with Mom and Sarah. Ava was the big sister and helped hold Sarah during the story time. Sarah enjoyed looking around at all of the activity. Interesting that Sarah is suddenly very taken with Ava, she smiles at Ava all of the time and is constantly craning her neck to see where Ava is going and what she is doing. Mom and Dad are in big trouble if in a couple of years Sarah is able to keep up with the comings, goings, and doings of Ava!

Bike riding with Dad

This was one of Ava's Birthday presents, a trail-a-bike that goes behind Dad. Ava is able to help pedal. She really likes it and sometimes Dad lifts his feet off and says "Ava give us a boost" and she has to pedal all by herself. We will probably do some longer bike rides in the summer but for now we go to the park and back.

St Mary Magdalen

Ava, Sarah, and Mom with the St Mary Magdalen Holy Relic. A fragment of St Mary Magdalen's tibula bone. The Holy Relic was at St Frances Cabrini and has been on tour in California from France for the past month. We were fortunate to be able to view the Holy Relic and say a couple little prayers.

Push Auntie Tara!

After a little break in the rain Auntie Tara went with Ava and Daddy to the park. Dad and Ava rode their bike together. Auntie Tara pushed Ava on the swing a bunch. Dad is still recovering from the 1,000 pushes a few weeks ago!

Storytime with Uncle Trent

Ava had a special guest reader for her books last week. She picked the longest two books that she could find! Uncle Trent read them to her and she was quite happy! It was very cute seeing her spend time with Uncle Trent. Both of the girls were quite fond of their Uncle!

International Day

Last Ava's school celebrated International Day. They had a dragon for Chinese New Year and all of the kids dressed up in traditional dress from their culture. Ava dressed in a Ukranian blouse and skirt. The children then did several dances and had a pot luck.

Ava's Valentine's Day

Ava's class had a Valentine's Day party. She was very excited to give all of her friends her "Hello Kitty" cards. And she got some very nice cards too. Here she is with her bag of cards and sitting next to her friend Patrick.

Tea party!

Sunday Ava was very busy with lots of playing around the house! Toys were everywhere! The grand finale was a "tea party" in her bed room. She made hats for Dad and Sarah, and name cards for places. There was tea and cake. It was quite an event!

Simon's bed?

Simon thinks that Sarah's changing table is actually a bed for him to take naps on. He likes it because it is by the window and the sun can shine in on him. Probably also likes being out of reach of Ava and Sarah too.

1,000

It was another beautiful 77 degree sunny day in San Jose. Dad and Ava rode their bikes to the park. Ava decided that she wanted to swing 1,000 times. Dad pushed and counted all the way up to 1,000! It took 40 minutes. Just before reaching 1,000 Ava said that we should go until 1,000,000. Dad said maybe another day!

Grandma's visit

Grandma visited last weekend. The girls had a great time. Ava loved having company and more of an audience, it just isn't the same entertaining Mom and Dad all of the time. Sarah liked to have somebody to hold her and a new face to study and touch. Everybody is very excited for next week when we will have lots of visitors! Mimi, Auntie Tara, Uncle Trent, and Grandma! It will be a full house, but will be nice to have the family together!

Booster seat

Ava is very proud of her new booster seat. She has been talking about a booster seat for about six months. Finally, one of the Moms from school had a booster seat and gave it to Mom. Ava really likes it, but Mom and Dad say that she needs to be a little bigger. Dad took her for a ride around the block on Sunday night and to school dropoff on Tuesday morning!

Help!

My legs are stuck! Sarah managed to get out of her blanket, turn sideways, and stick her legs through the crib slats. She cried very loud, but the second that Mom came in the room she stopped.

Jumperoo

Sarah wasn't too interested in the "exer-saucer" and now she is big enough to try the Jumperoo! We put a little mat down to give her a little more padding to jump. She liked the lights and noises.

Bouncing in the garage

Sunday was raining and Ava decided that she wanted to try the bouncy house in the garage. It fit perfectly and there was enough room to slide and run around. Made for good fun on a rainy day!
