Bunnies and Bonnets!

Ava's school took part in the Bunnies and Bonnets parade in Campbell on Saturday. The preschool children carried a banner and rode their bikes and scooters. Mom and Grandma walked along with Ava in the parade and Dad ran down the sidewalk photographing the event. Ava did a great job, but the bike riding was a little slow for her pace... she likes to ride FAST!!!

Easter Eggstravaganza

The Saturday before Easter is the annual Campbell Eggstravaganza featuring (you guessed it...) an Easter egg hunt, bouncy houses, the Easter bunny, and a parade. Here is Ava posing with the Easter bunny. Later there was an Easter egg hunt, or what could more accurately be described as an Easter egg stampede. Ava also enjoyed the bouncy house, a balloon, a donut, and face painting.

Easter goodies

The Easter bunny was especially good to Ava this year. She got to find five Easter baskets and 22 Easter eggs. Grandma and Mimi also sent Easter packages to Ava too! Ava received a bunch of books that she can take to church. And of course she found a fair amount of candy too! Here is Ava lining up all of the spoils of the hunt.

Easter Sunday

Today was Easter Sunday. Ava went to church with Mom, Dad, and Grandma. Ava wore her best dress that Mimi got for her last year. It was a beautiful light green and pink. Mom got Ava a nice Easter hat that had a matching pink ribbon. Ava saw one of her good friends from school, Alexis M., at mass at St. Lucy's. Here the two of them are posing for a picture after church.

Later Ava, Mom, Dad, and Grandma went out to Easter brunch at California Cafe in Los Gatos. The restaurant had a "knee-high buffet" for children. It had eggs, bacon, pizza, fries, and chicken fingers. The food was a big hit with Ava. There was also an Easter egg hunt in the lounge. It was the sixth Easter egg hunt that Ava has participated in this year. It is a wonder that there are any eggs left... anywhere!

The bravest kid in the whole world

Ava is 40 inches tall this year. Last year she was only 38 inches. The extra two inches got her onto the biggest roller coaster that she has ever ridden. The "bravest kid in the whole world" rode the coaster with her hands up in the air and squealed with joy the whole way... Twice!

Love buggies

A beautiful picture of Mom and Ava riding the Love Buggies. There are some rides that the whole family can go on together. This one even Mom can ride since it is slow and calm enough that it won't bother the baby.

Here comes Snoopy!

For as long as Dad remembers the Great America Amusement park was themed based Nickelodeon. This year the park is under new ownership and they changed to Peanuts. Ava was thrilled to see the Peanuts characters and ran right up to Snoopy. Mom and Dad are glad that they won't feel so out of touch as they did with Dora and Spongebob. Some things are just classic and timeless!
