Ava rides again

It had been two months since Ava last rode her bike. She was a little nervous about it, but after a couple of pedals she was off on her way. This just proves that once you learn how to ride a bike then you never forget. Ava also started practicing cart wheels again!

Singing in the choir

Sunday choir. This week a friend from school has joined. Ava is still very excited to be singing and we can hear her voice singing out among all the rest.

Paintings

Ava painted a yellow heart and Sarah painted something with lots of green!

Math Circle

Ava is in a Math Circle after school. Dad went with her today and was quite impressed with what she has been learning. Here she showed Mom how to add some "really wild numbers."

Cheese

Rari make

Sarah calls herself "Rari". Today she went to the library with Mom for story time. Rari did not enjoy the story part but she did like eating another baby's snack and then the craft time. She made a leaf collage.

Sunday donuts

After Church the girls love to go to coffee and donuts. Ava has a few friends from school that she plays with and Sarah tries to run along and play too.

Pigtails

Ava had Mom put pigtails in her hair for school. Sarah insisted in having a "pony tail" too.

Haunted House

 Ava at the Haunted House maze. She loved it and we went through 5 times. Even Sarah liked it and wanted to keep going back.

Cast is off

 Finally my cast is off. They sawed it in two and let me take it home. I have to wear a plastic removable splint for 5 weeks until I go back. But I am starting to move and bend my finger.

Signing my cast

 On Wednesday Ava had everybody in class sign her cast. She didn't want it signed before, but since this was the last day she took in a pink Sharpie and had everybody sign it. All of the children signed Ava's cast before they went on bathroom break. Even Ava's teacher signed her cast.

Earings

 Since the cast finally came off Mom had promised Ava that she could get her ears pierced. So today after her Friday dance class Mom and Ava went to the mall. Ava choose garnets since that is her birthstone. She also picked out a pair of butterfly earings to use in 1 month when these come out.

At the movies

First ones at the theater for Finding Nemo 3D. 2 lollipops, 1 bag of popcorn, one applesauce snack, an a juice box. Dad and Ava both enjoyed the show!

Rainy Sat morning

Watching cartoons on the couch. Mom and Sarah are in CT visiting Grandpa. Ava just had two chocolate chip pancakes. Another day with Dad, but Mom will be home this afternoon.

Rain coat and brella

Sarah loves her rain coat, boots and "brella". Whenever it is raining she wants to get all dressed up and go outside. She even wants to go to the park in the rain. But we say "Sarah it is raining". And she says "brella".

Magic show

At the annual magic show at school! It is very funny.

Apple picking

Hay ride

Took a short hay ride to get from the farm to the apple orchard. Ava would not sit on the hay and didn't really like the smell.

Picking apples on Saturday at Berlin Orchards. The weather was a little wet but everybody wore their rain boots. Ava was concerned that she wouldn't be able to pick apples with only one hand but she did great. Ava's favorite apples are Honeycrisp and there were some of those still left. Sarah walked around eating a big apple the whole time.

Frisbee at the park

Dad and Ava playing frisbee at the park. Ava can throw really well and is working on catching.

Sarah just loves running around, and the swings. But she does not like slides very much.

Wiggled the X finger

Good news! When Ava went in to surgery the doctor took a black sharpie and made an X on the tip of her finger. Today Mom and her peeked in the end of her cast and saw that she could wiggle the finger. So hopefully that is a good sign. Cast comes off 2 weeks from Thursday.

Toilet brushing

Ava thinks that a toilet brush is a very funny thing. Here she is in her blanket "robe", laughing herself silly with the toilet brush. The idea of the toilet brush came from a Junie B. Jones book.

Happy Birthday

More Birthday cake! Still celebrating. And still hasn't quite figured it all out yet. But did enjoy playing with her cousins all day.

Baby diapering

Sarah loves playing with her babies. On Saturday she was cleaning the babies with wipes and then putting diapers in them. She wants to take a baby with her wherever she goes.

Bath time

Sarah likes her baths. She takes a little bottle of water, fills it up, pours it on her head and laughs.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Our baby is 2! She thinks the Happy Birthday song is "Happy Sarah". She blew out the candle on her first try, after Ava jumped in and blew it out twice.

Take me out to the ball game

Dad and Ava spent Sun afternoon at Fenway Park. Seats were in the grand stand behind home plate. Cotton candy, lemonade, hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream were the main attractions. After the game we got to walk around the field by the Green Monster. Dad really loved spending the day with Ava.

Lego City

Ava loves Lego's! And Ava got a new lego doll with a bakery set.

Teddy Bear

Auntie Tara sent Ava a beautiful teddy bear. The bear has a little cast in the arm just like Ava. She likes the box too.

Fourth tooth

Ava lost her fourth tooth today. This was the first one that she pulled out by herself!

Recovery

Ava just came out. Here she is in recovery. The surgeon said they were able to fix her finger. She is very tired.
