Sarah's ride-on toy!

Sarah is almost big enough to use the ride on toy that Mimi and Papa got her for Christmas. Mom helps her balance and she tries to push herself along. The toy already has a few miles on it because Ava really likes it too (she likes anything with a Princess on it)!

Graduation party

Last weekend we had a graduation party for the boys and girls in Ava's class. The children have been together in preschool for two to three years now and have developed very good frienships. Each has achieved a lot and the parents are proud of them all. We celebrated at our house with a cook out and some cake!

Petroglyph

Ava went and did pottery with the teachers and some children from school. She made a beautiful plate, then had candy and pizza. It was a great time!

Ava's Princesses

Here is Ava playing with all of her princesses. She put butterfly stickers on them to look like wings. Then lined them up and played.

Ava & Bridgette

One of Ava's longtime friends and classmates has moved to Michigan. Bridgette and Ava had been together in the same class at school for two years. Mom and Dad were also good friends with her parents. It was sad to see them go, but we will see them again when we stop in Michigan on our summer vacation.

Upside down

Mom likes to play acrobat with Sarah and lift her up on the air and even upside down. This usually gets a smile and a laugh out of Sarah.

Take time to smell the roses

The roses in our yard are in full bloom. One of our family traditions is taking a picture every year with a rose. Ava put on her best smile. Sarah wanted to pull the rose apart and probably would have ate it if we let her.

Nose beads!

Yesterday at school Ava stuck a bead up her nose. She was doing a number job with Rory when Bridgette gave her a bead that belonged to the art area. Ava took the bead and stuck it up her nose, though she claims that "the bead fell up her nose". Rory went and told the teacher despite Ava asking him not to. The teacher was very concerned and was about to call the office when Ava had the idea to "blow it out" and with a huff out came the bead.

Perhaps this was partly Dad's fault because several times during dinner he has told the story of Daniel Carpenter in 1st grade who shoved a crayon up his nose and broke it off.

Anyways Ava may have learned many important lessons from this event (we hope). Mom and Dad spent about two hours talking about it with Ava. On Thursday morning at drop off Dad reminded Ava to "watch out for beads!"

Uncle Peter and Grandma

Here is a picture of Mom with Uncle Peter and Grandma. Ava got into the picture too, but Sarah was napping.

Dad makes lunch

Here is a typical Saturday lunch that Dad makes for Ava. Two hot dogs, yogurt, family fries, carrots, milk, and juice. Notice the folded napkin.

Getting my third tooth

Sarah is getting her third tooth now. It is pretty much through and she had pretty good days on Saturday and Sunday. But Mom noticed that tooth number four is almost ready, so the pain and medicine will start all over again some time this week.

Grandma's visit

Grandma visited last weekend for Mom and Dad's wedding. Ava and Sarah loved having company and the extra attention!

Face painting

Ava and Amelia at a birthday party a few weeks ago. A face painting artist made some designs on them. Ava ate two pieces of pizza and some cake. She really does love parties!

Baby humming bird

The baby humming bird was born a few weeks ago. Here you can see the mother bird feeding it. The baby grew in only a couple of weeks and one day left the nest. We were sad to see them leave, but it was amazing to watch the development.

Jewelry

We put some jewelry on Sarah from Ava's princess game. She didn't seem to mind too much.

Also Sarah just got her third tooth. One of the upper ones came in yesterday.
